The SAT®

(Scholastic Aptitude Test)

 is an entrance exam administrated by

the College Board.

It is used by most colleges and universities as an admission requirement.

 

The SAT Length is 2 hours and 14 minutes with a reading & writing and a math section.

What is on the New Digital SAT?


Reading and Writing Content Domains: 


1) Craft and Structure (13-15 questions) 
reading comprehension, vocabulary, analysis and reasoning skills. 


2) Information and Ideas (12-14 questions) 
ability to locate, interpret, and evaluate information and ideas. 


3) Standard English Conventions (11-15 questions) 
sentence structure and punctuation.


4) Expression of Ideas (8-12 questions) 
how well the student can revise and improve the effectiveness of ideas.  


Math Content Domains: 

1) Algebra  (13-15 questions)
Linear equations with one and two variables, linear functions, system of two linear equations in two variables, linear inequalities in one or two variables


2) Advance Math (13-15 questions)
Equivalent Expressions, nonlinear equations in one variable and system of equations in two variables, nonlinear functions. 



3) Problem Solving and Data Analysis (5-7 questions)
Ratios, rates, percentages, probability , inference form sample statistics and margin of error. 



4) Geometry and Trigonometry (5-7 questions

Areas and volume, lines, angles, and triangles, right triangles, and circles

 


 

 

The ACT®

(American College Testing)

 is an entrance exam administrated by

ACT Education Corp. 

It is used by most colleges and universities as an admission requirement.

 

The ACT Length is 2 hours and 55 minutes  (without essay) and 3 hours and 40 minutes (with essay) 

ACT Test  DATES: 

July 13th, 2024

September 14th, 2024 

October 26th, 20204

 

IMPORTANT

1) The Digital test is adaptive, that means, the student takes the first reading module with a broad of mix of easy, medium, and hard questions, then the second module difficulty level is based on their performance on module 1. 

 

2) The minimum score is 400, the maximum score is 1600.  


3) You can bring your own calculator (click here to see the acceptable calculators), and the test has embedded digital calculator from  https://www.desmos.com/calculator 

 

What is on the ACT Test?


English 


Student's ability to revise and edit short texts and essays from 4 reading passages.
 
Math 
 
Arithmetic, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry and Probability & Statistics. 
 
Reading 

There are 4 ACT reading passages (800 words each) including prose fiction, social science, humanities, and natural science. 

Science Reasoning 
 
 The student will have to interpret data, understand experimental tools , scientific tables, and graphs.
